چکیده
Since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, many reports have highlighted several potential anti-SARS-CoV-2 drug candidates, including phenolic compounds. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate activity of nine common compounds found plants using vitro cellular infection model. The curcumin, quercetin, gallic acid, catechin, rutin, kaempferol, naringenin, coumaric acid and caffeic were evaluated on SARS-CoV-2-infected Vero E6 cells by a cytopathic effect (CPE)-based assay. human lung cells, A549 expressing ACE2 TMPRSS2, was RT-qPCR technique. S1-ACE2 interaction 3CL protease assays also performed for potent compound. Of compounds, only curcumin inhibited SARS-CoV-2 induced CPE (EC 50 13.63 µM) but with low selective index (SI) value. Interestingly, exhibited an EC 4.57 µM SI value 7.96. inhibitory activities observed. In conclusion, showed moderate activity. true as candidate could be further animal

Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of selected medicinal plants and fungi containing phenolic and flavonoid compounds
UNLABELLED BACKGROUND This study aims to determine the relationship between the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of the thirteen herbs and two fungi extracts, and their total phenolic and flavonoid contents. METHODS Antioxidant activities were evaluated by four assays: an antioxidant activity assay using Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a DPPH ((2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) assay t...
متن کاملSeroprevalence of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody in healthcare workers: A report from Rafsanjan, Iran
Background: Healthcare workers (HCWs) have a high risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Seroprevalence studies can provide related data on HCWs who have a history of infections. According to numerous seroepidemiological reports of COVID-19 in different groups and the lack of seroepidemiological reports of COVID-19 in HCWs in Rafsanjan, the aim of this study was to determine the SARS-CoV-2 seroprevalenc...
